Ukrainians usually have breakfast around 7 a.m. on weekdays and at 10-11 a.m. on weekends. On workdays they make something fast to cook, such as instant porridge, fried eggs or omelette. They often prepare something the evening before. On weekends, breakfast includes recipes they don't have time to cook during the week: mlynci (blintzes), syrnyky (fried quark pancakes) etc. Ukrainians eat sweet foods mostly on weekends when they have time to treat themselves to something delicious.
