Buns with seeds

In Denmark, it is pretty common to serve buns for breakfast. A typical Danish breakfast bun is very crisp and normally called a Rundstykke, which can roughly be translated as a round piece.
This recipe is a typical Rundstykke with the addition of sunflower seeds.

Ingredients:
  • 5 dcl of water
  • 15 gm of yeast
  • 50 gm of oatmeal
  • 400 gm of wheat flour
  • 200 gm of wholemeal flour
  • 1 tsp of olive oil
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 150 gm sunflower seeds
 
  1. - Pour the water into a bowl and blend in the yeast
  2. - Add the salt, olive oil, oatmeal, sunflower seeds and wholemeal flour and stir
  3. - Add the wheat flour and knead
  4. - Let the dough rest for an hour
  5. - Shape the dough into buns and let them rest for half an hour
  6. - Bake the buns in the oven for 30 minutes at 200◦C
