Chai latte cookies with Nutella hazelnut spread
Chai latte like you’ve never had it before
You know Chai latte only as a drink, right? Now, let this creative combination enchant you: a touch of oriented spices, combined with Nutella® hazelnut spread, yielding irresistibly crispy Holiday sandwich cookies.
  • 3/4 cup cold butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp instant chai latte powder
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup Nutella® hazelnut spread
  • Also: Cookie cutter (2-inch), piping bag

  • Beat butter, sugar, salt and egg yolk in a medium bowl.
  • Add the flour and chai latte powder; knead into a smooth dough.
  • Chop sunflower seeds and fold into the dough.
  • Shape into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness. Cut out cookies, rerolling dough once, to make 36 cookies. If you do have cookie stamps, press stamps into cookies to imprint pattern.

  • Transfer cookies to parchment paper—lined baking sheets.
  • Bake for about 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.
  • Let cookies cool on rack.
  • Spread one half of the cookies with 1 tsp Nutella® hazelnut spread. Cap with remaining cookies.
  • Decorate with remaining Nutella® hazelnut spread using a piping bag fitted with a small plain tip.
