Khaleyet al Nahel with Nutella®
We all love finishing National Day with pastries, right? Well, now you and your loved ones can enjoy the much-loved Khaleyet Al Nahel with a Nutella twist!
Serving - 10
2 Cups All purpose flour
2 Teaspoons Instant Dry yeast
2 Teaspoons Baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
3/4 Cup Lukewarm milk
2 Tablespoons Vegetable oil
2 Tablespoons Honey
5 Tablespoons Cream cheese
150g Nutella (15g per serving)
To prepare this delicious recipe, 15g of Nutella® per person is enough to enjoy!
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees c.
In a large mixing bowl, combine milk, oil, honey, and yeast; mix well.
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and add to the milk, honey and oil. Mix with a spoon, then knead the dough for 5-8 minutes until it becomes elastic. Cover the dough with a towel and allow to double in size in a warm place - will take around an hour.
Flatten each ball and stuff with a teaspoon of cream cheese, gently pulling the dough around the filling, and sealing. Arrange the balls, touching each other in a greased round cake tin. Cover and let them rise again for 30-40 minutes.
Separate the egg yolk and mix with 1 tablespoon water. Brush the top with egg yolk wash and bake the buns for 25 minutes.
Allow buns to cool before decorating with Nutella.
