Crispy French cookies with Nutella hazelnut spread
So cute, so delicate!
Have you ever thought of shaping the traditional French Chat de langues (‘’finger-shaped cookies’’) into delicious hearts, stars or fir trees? This year, the holidays can be even more magical!
  • 1 3/4 tbsp butter, brought to room temperature
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/3 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¼ cups Nutella® hazelnut spread
  • Self-made paper stencil

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar.
  • Add the flour and egg white, blending with a spatula.

  • Place a stencil on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Then use a metal spatula to carefully fill the stencil with a thin layer of batter.
  • Tip: You could also place batter in piping bag and trace outline of stencil to fill it that way.

  • Lift the stencil and place it again and repeat. Use different stencils for differently shaped cookies. Make sure that each shape has an equal number of cookies.
  • Bake on the middle rack of the oven for approximately 3 to 4 minutes.

  • Remove pan from oven and let cool.
  • Use a piping bag to squeeze 1 tsp of Nutella® hazelnut spread onto the flat side of one cookie, then cover with another cookie of the same shape, then press lightly. Repeat for all cookies.
  • Per best results, serve immediately.
