A slice of rye bread is rich in dietary fibres and iron and, therefore, plays an important role in Dutch food patterns. Particularly in the regions with high agricultural activity, numerous types of rye bread can be found and it is a popular alternative for ordinary types of bread. Its structure is considerably denser and the taste is much sourer. Great to enjoy with either sweet bread spreads like Nutella® for breakfast or with a warming home-made soup for lunch!
